Amal is an amazing mother of three, a loving wife, an incredible sister and daughter, and the steadfast beating heart of her family. She and her husband, Awadallah, have three kind and beautiful children: Uday, the oldest at 5; Amr, the middle son at 4, and baby Shukri at 9 months of age. Amal has dedicated her life to the betterment of children, having been a teacher before the genocide begun. She has since dedicated every single second of her days to taking care of her family.

Through social media, like many, Amal has been brave enough to not just ask for help, but actively seek out organizations, aid, and friendships, in the hopes of providing for her family. She has crossed invaded terrain to retrieve formula and prays her sons will know peaceful sleeping soon. When the borders open Amal plans to get her family to safety. She is on her way.

Despite Egyptian border prices demanding $2,500 USD for every child under 12, and $5,000 dollars USD for every adult (along with the fact that a man must be accompanied by a woman, or he cannot cross the border), she has raised a little over $10,000 dollars through daily crowdfunding. This is not enough to get her, her three children, and her husband over the border – let alone her other family members (her youngest brother not yet an adult). They need help.
